April 18,2013

April 18, 2013. Tampa, FL — Creative Recycling Systems (CRS), a leader in IT Asset Management and Electronics Recycling, announced today that it will be participating in several events around the United States for Earth Day 2013.

On April 20th, CRS will be exhibiting at the University of South Florida’s Earth Day Tampa Bay and  the Nashville Earth Day Festival. CRS has also partnered with WMNF Radio in Tampa to collect electronics at no cost to the community. Businesses and households can bring their electronics to the station at 1210 East MLK Jr. Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33603 through April 22nd. Additionally, as an official NASCAR® GREEN Partner, CRS has joined the NASCAR RACE TO GREEN™ initiative where CRS will plant 200 trees for every green flag waved in a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ race during the month of April.

“We are honored to be participating in so many Earth Day events this year,” said Tiffini Schwarzkopf, Director of Marketing for Creative Recycling Systems.  She added, “For us, we treat every day as Earth Day, holding dozens of collection events each year--collecting more than 100,000 LBS of electronics for reuse and recycling." She went on to say that, "E-waste is the fastest growing waste segment in the U.S. today.  Electronics comprise 1% of the material entering U.S. landfills, yet contribute 70% of the toxins found there.  It’s a worldwide problem, but the solution begins on a community level.  We really take it upon ourselves to lead the charge and educate the public about what they can do to be part of the solution.  It is a goal of ours to take every opportunity we can to share this day supporting communities, our customers and partners.”
Most electronic equipment is accepted including, but not limited to: Personal Computers, Laptops, Cell Phones, Hard Drives, CRTs, TV’s, LCDs, Flat Panels, Printers and Telecom equipment. For a complete list please visit Creative Recycling Acceptable Materials. All items that could contain sensitive data (hard drives, etc) will be properly sanitized. All material collected by CRS is either reused, recovered or fully recycled.
